Nick Matheson - Stand like a Mountain
Nick is a leadership advisor, strategist, and facilitator who walks seamlessly between the boardroom and the backcountry. For more than two decades, he’s helped entrepreneurs, executives, and change-makers align their work with what matters most — blending business acumen with a deep respect for the inner life.
His path has included founding and selling wellness companies, leading consulting teams, and guiding hundreds of leaders through growth, crisis, and renewal. Beneath every title or role has been the deepening recognition that optimal performance requires relational transformation, first and foremost by returning to the Self.
Nick grounds his personal and professional approach in mindfulness, somatic presencing, and nature-based practices. He’s equally at home in strategic visioning sessions and silent forest walks. His facilitation style is spacious and sharp, gentle and unflinching. He knows how to hold complexity — and how to help others find clarity and alignment within it.
As a Steward of The Return, Nick anchors the arc of the experience and holds the integrity of the space. He lives in Bedford, Nova Scotia, with his wife and four children, and continues to learn what it means to lead from the heart.
Nick Cardone - Flow like a River
Nick is a clinician, consultant, and guide who has spent over two decades at the intersection of men’s mental health, therapeutic innovation, and embodied leadership. He moves between clinical offices, wild landscapes, and hard-hatted job sites — weaving together insights from psychotherapy, somatic wisdom, and the hard-won truths of male experience.
Nick has dedicated his life to making healing more real, more accessible, and less confined. His work breaks down the walls — literally and metaphorically — of traditional therapy, inviting individuals and groups into movement, nature, and honest dialogue. Whether sitting by a fire, hiking a ridgeline, or facilitating a training for front-line leaders in male-dominated industries, his approach is experiential, unvarnished, and deeply human.
Holding space with both a clinician’s steadiness and a coach’s forward pull, he believes that the health of a man, a workplace, or a community is inseparable from the stories we carry and the courage we bring to transform them.
As a Steward of The Return, Nick helps create spaces where men can drop their armour, reconnect to what matters - being, relating and loving ‘…closer to the heart’. He lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where his family, the water, the trails, and the hockey rink remain his own teachers in movement, humility, and joy.
